EUROPEAN DOG SHOW 2010 CELJE – THE BIGGEST EVENT IN SLOVENIA'S CYNOLOGY

 Between 30th of September and 3rd October Celje hosted the 2010 European dog show, the biggest event in 90 years of Slovenian cynology. 15.000 dogs from 57 countries came to Celje, and in four days 30.000 visitors from Slovenia and abroad. The winner, European champion 2010 is SHIRAZ CALIFORNIA DREAMIN, the reprezentatitve of the saluki breed.

 The show hosted dogs and their owners from all around Europe and other continents as well. Most of them, 2.206, came from Italy, 1.700 from Russia, third place went to Hungary.

Closely 10.100 dogs entered the European dog show 2010 in Celje, from Europe, USA, United Arab Emirates, Cote d'Ivoire, Afganistan, State of Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Madagascar, Argentina, Australia, Congo and Japan. And at special dog shows 4.000 dogs took part. The visitors were able to see 320 breeds; most numerous beeing American Staffordshire Terrier, Golden Retriever, Cane Corso, Labrador, Siberian Husky and Chinese Crested dog.

98 judges from Slovenia and abroad also took part at the show. And they were the one, who decided that the best dog of the European dog show 2010 in Celje is SHIRAZ CALIFORNIA DREAMIN, coming from Sweden and is reprezentative of the saluki breed.

 THE SLOVENIAN KENNEL CLUB FUNDATION

 Slovenia has been greatly affected in recent days by heavy floods. Around 60 percent of Slovenian territory suffered severe damage. Among theaffected were also the members of the Slovenian Kennel Club, above all in central and western Slovenia.

That is why the Slovenian Kennel Club has decided to help them with special fund. 10.000 euro is avaible and will be given to our members proportionally, the payment not exceeding 200 euro per member. We did however reserved the right for a payment to exceed 200 euro per member, if the number of received applications will allow us to do that."
